Joe Jackson, born in 1954 in Burton-on-Trent, England, is a genre-defying musician known for his sharp songwriting and stylistic versatility. He rose to fame with 1979's Look Sharp! and its hit "Is She Really Going Out With Him?", blending punk, pop, and reggae. Jackson's career spans swing (Jumpin' Jive), Latin jazz (Night and Day), and orchestral composition, earning a Grammy for Symphony No. 1. He's released acclaimed albums like Body and Soul, Big World, and Fool, and paid tribute to Duke Ellington with The Duke. In 2023, he revived forgotten music hall tunes in What A Racket! and toured globally in 2024. Jackson splits his time between New York, Portsmouth, and Berlin. Part of the Cleveland Clinic Rock Series.
