San Francisco’s, Deafheaven, have gained widespread acclaim for their groundbreaking 2013 debut’ Sunbather’, which redefined the margins of heavy metal, earning esteemed spots on Rolling Stone’s ‘100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time’ and Pitchfork’s ‘200 Best Albums of The 2010s’. The band have continued challenging genre conventions across a further four records. 2018s ‘Ordinary Corrupt Human Love’ garnered them their first-ever Grammy nomination, while 2021s ‘Infinite Granite’ continued their evolution and galvanised with a refinement pointed at lusher textures and lilting melodies. Now they are back with their acclaimed 2025 full-length, ‘Lonely People With Power’, already a sure-fire contender for AOTY accolades. Revered for their transcendental live shows, Deafheaven have toured with everyone from Slipknot to Knocked Loose to Chelsea Wolfe, performed at festivals from Coachella to Primavera Sound to ArcTanGent and racked up countless sold out headlines. Don’t miss this - their first Cardiff show in eight-years.

Accessibility The entrance to Y Plas is at the front of the Cardiff University Student Union on Park Place. There is a ground level lift positioned behind the stairs at this entrance which provides access to the main reception on Level 2. A lift is available inside the building for access to all other levels. There is no accessible parking at the venue. An accessible toilet is available at the venue on levels 2 & 4. There is an accessible viewing area from the Mezzanine level. Spaces for this area need to be booked in advance
