Kavanaghs Comedy Club & Lisa Richards Presents;
Peter McGann: ah no
The Great Lad is back with a hilarious new comedy special.
Join Peter McGann (Good Boy; Small Town, Big Story) on a deeply stupid time-jumping journey as he brushes shoulders with the Chicago mafia, a flying column from Cork and D-list Irish content creators, all the while seeking to learn just what kind of comedian, and indeed man, he wants to be.
But McGann isn’t just a man of the stage – he’s also the grieving creator of Portlaoise’s fallen folk hero, Patrick “The Hips” Campion. The Hips, immortalised in Kean Kavanagh’s music video 'A Cowboy Song', became a viral sensation before his untimely passing on the 19th of May, 2025, aged just 47. Known for his loose hips, his love of raw sausages, and his ability to run up a small tab with half the town, Patrick left behind a legacy of charm, debt, and baffling dance moves.
With Kean Kavanagh and The Hips both hailing from Portlaoise, expect a night where comedy meets local legend, and where Peter McGann proves once again that while characters may die, great laughs live forever.
Catch him at Kavanagh’s Comedy Club, Portlaoise – Friday, November 21st.
