And? you have a chance to perform! Before each musical cabaret, bring your sheet music to sing during the 7 pm preshow. Please come early and sign up ? first come, first served! Doors open at 6:45pm.
A genre-bending cabaret built from deep cuts, unsung verses, and the kind of songs you stumble on when your heart needs saving. Unstandard isn't a tribute - it's a mixtape of memory, longing, and reinvention, with music by Jill Scott, Amy Winehouse, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Marley, and Cecile McLorin Salvant. Singer Felicia Penza and pianist Cory Dugar guide the audience through 10 musical movements - charting a path from infatuation to epiphany - with storytelling, humor, and R&B/jazz reinterpretation. Each track becomes an act of reflection, healing, and self-love. **This program is made possible, fully or in part, by a grant from Scottsdale Arts with funding provided by the City of Scottsdale. The Bridge Initiative projects this season are supported in part by a CCG grant for general operations from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, which receives support from the State of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts.**
